Limb Salvage through Intermediary Wound Coverage with Acellular Dermal Matrix Template after Persistent Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Infection in a Burn Patient

چکیده
Secondary infections of skin grafts pose a continuous problem in burn patients, very often leading to loss transplanted and making multiple surgical revisions necessary. We present case report about persisting Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection patients with known diabetes. The wounds lower extremities required repeated debridements, grafting attempts finally an application the dermal scaffold NovoSorb BTM. With these measures, we managed undertake successful reconstruction infected defects pre-vent amputation. concluded that BTM could be seen as additional promising tool surgery armamentarium. In cases where radical wound decontamination is not possible without risking limb, over contaminated field can win extra time for topical treatment additionally provide excellent ground.

Treatment of severe burn with DermACELL(®), an acellular dermal matrix.
For treatment of skin burn injuries, there exist several methods of treatment related to tissue regeneration, including the use of autograft skin and cryopreserved skin. However, each method has drawbacks. An alternative method for tissue regeneration is allograft acellular dermal matrix, with potential as a biocompatible scaffold for new tissue growth. One recently produced material of this ty...
متن کاملCoverage of Megaprosthesis with Human Acellular Dermal Matrix after Ewing's Sarcoma Resection: A Case Report
A 23-year-old female with Ewing's Sarcoma underwent tibial resection and skeletal reconstruction using proximal tibial allograft prosthetic reconstruction with distal femur endoprosthetic reconstruction and rotating hinge. Human acellular dermal matrix, (Alloderm, LifeCell, Branchburg, NJ, USA), was used to wrap the skeletal reconstruction. Soft tissue reconstruction was completed with a rotati...
متن کاملDermal wound transcriptomic responses to Infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa versus Klebsiella pneumoniae in a rabbit ear wound model
BACKGROUND Bacterial infections of wounds impair healing and worsen scarring. We hypothesized that transcriptome analysis of wounds infected with Klebsiella pneumoniae (K.p.) or Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P.a.) would indicate host-responses associated with the worse healing of P.a.- than K.p.-infected wounds. METHODS Wounds created on post-operative day (POD) 0 were infected during the inflammat...
متن کاملGranulocyte function and Pseudomonas burn wound infection.
Granulocyte function in burn injury has been evaluated with an in vitro animal assay. Bactericidal activity, using this technique, was markedly depressed only when granulocytes from scald burned rats were challenged with each of three strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the presence of autologous postburn serum or heat-inactivated serum. Preincubation of postburn and normal serum at 37 degrees...
متن کاملPhage therapy of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection in a mouse burn wound model.
Mice compromised by a burn wound injury and subjected to a fatal infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa were administered a single dose of a Pseudomonas aeruginosa phage cocktail consisting of three different P. aeruginosa phages by three different routes: the intramuscular (i.m.), subcutaneous (s.c.), or intraperitoneal (i.p.) route. The results of these studies indicated that a single dose of ...
